We are a professional catering company, based in Newton Hall, Durham, at The Kitchen café.

About Us

The Kitchen provides fresh homemade food as well as quality barista coffee. We are based in the housing estate, Newton Hall. Visit us for appealing, quality cafe style food in a relaxed & family-friendly atmosphere. You can choose to eat in or take away. Our experienced cooks are also available for outside catering services across Durham.

We offer a fully bespoke catering service for events and dinner parties. You won’t find a set menu here as we create a unique menu or buffet to match all your specifications and dietary requirements. Give us a call for a bespoke quote.

Bistro nights

Our bistro nights will be up and running again very soon as they were put on hold due to covid restrictions. Our up and coming bistro nights will include tapas night, steak night and much more so keep checking back for updates. All of our nights are bring your own bottle with a corkage fee as we are not licensed.

Latest Covid-19 update

Lifting of restrictions to go ahead from Monday 19th.

  • Masks are no longer mandatory- some people will choose to continue with mask-wearing (including myself). Choices to wear or not wear masks should be respected by all.
  • Table service only can be discontinued- people are able to form queues to order/pay at the counter but should any customer want to continue with table service this will be available.
  • Social distancing to be scrapped- our tables will be staying distanced for the time being but barriers between tables will be removed. These will still be available should any customer like to have this for their visit.

    • The Kitchen will continue to make all customers feel as comfortable as possible whilst visiting.
